U.C. Berkeley Refugees Intercepted by North Korean Coast Guard

A small group of Berkeley Student Communists, seeking to escape capitalist oppression, were intercepted today by the North Korean Coast Guard. The students were found on a small raft constructed of hemp and Noam Chomsky political writings. Student leader Jennifer “Dancing Wind” Smith described the six-month trip from the capitalist hell of Northern California to Communist North Korea as harrowing and dangerous. “The tofu and bean sprouts ran out in the sixth week,” said Smith. “We were very desperate. I tried to get a drum circle going, but most of us were too sick at that point to keep much of a rhythm. I probably would have eaten my own arm if I was not a Vegan.”

The Berkeley Student Communists kissed the ground and praised the bravery of their great leader Kim Jong-il before enjoying an indigenous Communist North Korean meal of grass and tree bark. The students were then stripped, searched, and beaten – another “indigenous custom” that party leader Jennifer “Dancing Wind” described as part of the collective experience.

When asked about the terrible oppression that they were experiencing in the United States, several of the students broke down crying. “We were forced to work a forty-hour week just to afford a small apartment and cheap car,” said one student, “in our new home we can afford a handful of rice after just seventy hours. Can you believe it? I am really looking forward to a big week of Party marches.”
